So after reading the post on the birthing ball.. I decided to drag my yoga ball out of the garage and it was missing the damn plug! Ugggggg

anyway.. I went to walmart.. and they had a huge display of gold gym yoga balls for $8.97.

My back and hips had really been bothering me so I wasted no time in airing it up. (It comes with the manual foot pump fyi) and I feel so much better.

If youve been considering getting one but cost was a factor. . Maybe this will help. They also had a weight watchers one with a stability ring and work out dvd (post baby maybe?) for $24.99

Sry to make a new post for a discussed thread but thought some of you may be interested.

I used to have one, but apparently at some point got rid of it.  I guess $9 isn't too much to spend on something I will probably rarely use.  I'll have to check out Marshall's too.

eta: @moxybyproxy I just looked online, there is a 75cm and 55cm, which did you get?  Which do you think would work better?

  • Thanks!  Cheap is my favorite.  I tossed my ball a few years ago, and my hips are begging me to get on a ball now.

I was looking online at some online and they had a size chart. They recommended a 65cm for people about 5'7" but many were commenting it was too small. I am 5'10" and will be getting the 75cm. On amazon I think it was a Gaiam brand exercise ball and those were the comments I read.
  • I got the 65cm. Its small enough I can keep my feet flat on the floor without feeling like I have to constantly balance myself.

  • Thanks for the psa, my midwife recommended today that I get one, so I went straight to Walmart. Canadian Walmart is more expensive, so it was 20 bucks, but still not bad. I might take it back to get the 75cm one though. I got one with 3 pounds of sand in it, which is great. Stops it from rolling a bit, and will be good for exercising after LO arrives. Hopefully sitting on it will help the baby move position, which is why it was recommended to me.
