3rd Trimester

tongue tingling

Every time I eat anything my tongue feels tingly after for about twenty minutes. My first thought was maybe some sort of allergy but it's EVERY time I eat. It has just started happening this last week or so. I'm 39 weeks 4 days, maybe some kind of pressure on a nerve? Anyone experienced this before?

Re: tongue tingling

  • I had this start at the beginning of the second trimester, it went away when I entered the third trimester and just returned last week. I haven't heard of anyone else getting this! It's very random for me. I get lots of bumps on my tongue and if it's bad my lips tingle as well. It can last several hours for me. I also thought it was an allergy and saw an allergist and a couple other doctors but it's so unpredictable and not connected to any specific foods. The doctors have basically told me that it's probably a strange pregnancy symptom and hopefully it goes away. I hope so because it's scary when I think I'm having an allergic reaction! Does anything help your tingling go away?
