I was just talking to my oldest friend and she asked me if I remembered her brother's friend.  He just had another daughter and she casually mentioned the older daughter loving her baby sister.  When she said her name, I laughed in my head.  I had forgotten he named her this.

It's pronounced Ab-suh-dee.  

It's spelled Abcde.

I've heard this name twice before this thread. It scares me that it's not even that unusual.

I have heard of this name before! I wish I could remember who it was that had this name, but MAN that's a bad one! Poor kid.

This is just bad...

ABCDE isn’t an urban legend. It’s a real baby name.

In fact, it’s the official first name of hundreds of females in the U.S.

How many ABCDEs were born in the last decade? Here are the numbers:

• 32 in 2009
• 28 in 2008
• 24 in 2007
• 26 in 2006
• 22 in 2005
• 15 in 2004
• 22 in 2003
• 17 in 2002
• 16 in 2001
• 12 in 2000

In total, over 200. And that’s not all. Other baby girls were named ABCDE in the 1990s (and perhaps even earlier).
