board etiquette request

Hi Ladies,

I know this is a relatively new board and that our paths here are pretty diverse. There are women who have had losses, never been pregnant, carriers and surrogates, etc..Could I possibly request that we adopt a BFP warning on the title of posts that contain this happy news?

I know that my journey has left me scarred and not always able to handle such announcements with the respect and joy they're due. I (and possibly others on this board) have some bad days when it is better I not read them. Thanks for considering this and I look forward to hearing thoughts...

@DoulaRaVenMa - I did decide to write this after reading your post, but have been thinking of doing this for a while now, so please understand that this message is not targeted directly at you. I just thought it was an issue to be raised as this board continues to develop its culture.

I completely agree. There are so many different diagnoses at play on this board and some of us are still here a year later after this board was started. I was actually the very first positive hpt on this board last January but it didn't stick (obviously). It's very difficult to see some people show up and leave very quickly when we never get to leave. We also have some who here who have never experienced infertility. We are absolutely grateful for donors and carriers because we NEED you but you will never know our pain. So a warning will help us all coexist in this TPR world. Hugs and love to all.

I agree as well. Just the little time it takes to do a warning can save someone from reading a post they may not normally open is a thoughtful gesture that takes little to no time on a post.

Again, I'm late in responding, but I wholeheartedly agree with the need for sensitivity when posting a BFP.

@lacyj67 I was just reading your signature and am at the infancy of my donor egg research. How did you find yours? What is a shared cycle? Any advice on where to start my research?

My re recommended a few donor egg agencies to exlplore. At my re, a shared cycle can only be done with a donor that is known to have donated before & known to provide at least 20 eggs. Then you get 1/2 the eggs at a discount. The other 1/2 go into the re egg bank for another person.

I think its a great idea as well since we all don't know each others past & what each of us is going throw & this could save some pain for someone!!

But I also can't help but be hurt by this as well, if you been fallowing me you would have seen that the PG ended in a Chemical.
I wish you could have brought up the point & have left me out if it.

@DoulaRaVenMa - I am so sorry that your pg ended in a chemical. We have been there, huge hugs.

I didn't mean to drag you into it, it was a (failed) attempt to communicate that you weren't targeted, but rather that this was an issue that this board needed to discuss.

I sincerely apologize for that. Please take care of yourself during this tough time! I (and others) are here as support.
