Breastfeeding

Very random BF question

So, I am a bridesmaid two times in the next few months and I'm having a slight issue!! Both dresses are not wearable with a bra, typically I would wear a sticky one that just goes on the front or no bra but with leakage issues and things I'm a bit worried. My boobs are not small and I'm probably in a DDish...any thoughts on what I could wear to make sure I don't get wet circles or anything (also, not sure if this matters but I'm an EPer and will try and pump my normal schedule that day)

Re: Very random BF question

  • Do you leak normally? If you are adhearing to the same schedule, I don't know why you'd worry about leaking. As for bralessness, I have no advice, sorry :/

Could you just wear nursing pads in the dress without a bra? Most brands have adhesive strips to keep them in place.

I will look into it!! Thanks!

Well I am going to try and keep the same schedule, but I can't be sure! There might be pictures during my time or the ceremony/reception...it's just an unknown right now!!

  • Definitely see if nursing pads will work. I've never seen disposible ones that don't have adhesive :)

  • Most alterations shop can sew a bra-like front into our dress for coverage and the fabric is more like a bra hitch nursing pads would stick in. Plus the added layer would protect against leaks even if they happened.

  • Get the reusable pads that tend to be more absorbent than the disposable kinds, and a good double sided/fashion tape to stick them to the dress.  I also wore a thin nude colored tube top under my dress to act like a bra and help keep things in place.

  • If you feel like the sticky pads on the nursing pad will slip, use Fashion Tape. You can put it on both sides of the pad (between pad and dress and pad and your skin) to help it stay in place. A lot of ballroom dancers use it to make sure they don't pop out of their costumes, especially the Latin dances with the skimpy dresses. I'm a DDD gal and the stuff works great. Just make sure your skin is clean and dry when you put the tape on, it's double sided.
  • I agree with PP. Ask the alterations people to build something in for you.
