Sunday Side-Eye!

It's time to judge.

Yesterday H and I took T to the mall to pick up a few things and let her play in this cute little children's area that she loves. Since it was the weekend it was busier than usual, but luckily all of the older kids were very mindful of the toddlers and I wasn't too worried that she would get hurt. All the sudden this kid, probaby 4ish, starts running while pushing an empty umbrella stroller all over the place. I was thinking to myself, Oh surely the mom will realize what she's doing and take it away. Fifteen minutes later, still nothing and the kid has is running into people with it, running over people's ankles, etc, and has now been joined by another demon spawn who is running alongside it.  Another adult (not their parent) stopped them and told them to put away the stroller. They ignored her of course, and continued to run amok. This was the last straw for me so I began to get up to go tell the kids to cut their shit out and at this point I'm prepared to confiscate said stroller. Right as I got up, they hit a toddler, younger than T, with the stroller and knocked her down. At this point the 4 year old's older sister, I'm assuming, came and got the stroller and put it back near the mother, who all this time is chatting it up with an adult couple standing behind the kid area, not paying one damn bit of attention to her hellion kids. Luckily the toddler who was knocked over was ok but I was so pissed. I gave her the evil eye when we left but of course she was too involved in her cell phone at that point to notice. It's a good thing I had H with me, because I really wanted to give this lady a snarky comment as I passed but he reeled me back in.

Your turn! Who in your life deserves the Sunday Side-Eye?

I'm with you... today at the mall playground there was a kid that was just too old for it (5/6) and he kept going up the wrong side of the slide while my son was trying to slide down it... My kid slid down, got his foot caught on this kid and tumbled the rest of the way.  Man I was pissed!  So I told the kid not to go up that way and that he had to go around like you're meant to do.... so his parents start yelling at me from across the way "he doesn't understand you!"... so I yelled back, "then you need to come tell your kid he needs to be careful with the little guys, he's being mean" ... we'll they rolled their eyes at me and didn't get their fat asses up, and did nothing about it.  Man I was fuming!  I wanted to grab that kid by the arm and yank him down that slide!  I ended up grabbing my kid and leaving, all because parents don't know how to discipline their children. ugh!

I'm waiting at my perinatologist office right now for my fetal echo. Today is the one day a month the specialist takes appointments here, so everyone is here for an echo. A lady just came in alone with her two or three year old in a stroller. The kid was whining and trying to stand up before she even finished checking in. I know the scan is not going to be short, so idk what she is planning on doing with the kid when they get back in the room.

Im confused. Are you side-eyeing her because she had to bring her kid to the dr?

Yeah this isn't something I would side-eye for. I had to go to my yearly gyno appt the other day and damn straight I took Taylor with me. I didn't have anyone to watch her on the only two days he takes annual appointments and my doc won't refill my birth control without a checkup. I just kept her in the stroller and threw mini muffins at her when she got cranky. If she had screamed the whole time, well, she just would have had to scream the whole time. Things have to get done and a babysitter isn't always available.
Rylan went to mine too.. and also every appt Ive had. I dont have family here so thats never an option. You do what you have to do!!!
Oh I know people have to bring their kids with them to the dr and sometimes there is no other option. But I know she was at the office for an echo, my appointment was close to an hour and i think its really hard to tend to a LO when you're on an ultrasound for an hour. Also, the office has a rule about bringing kids with no one to watch them but people do all the time.

But I've brought LO to my regular checkups and i'd never judge anyone for that.

If there's no one to watch the kid, it doesn't matter if the appointment is 5 minutes or an hour...kiddo has to come with. What else is she supposed to do? You yourself said that this doc only sees people once a month.
