Success after IF

Cradle cap?

Does cradle cap make baby's head really itchy? Baby I has been scratching at her head like crazy with her sharp little baby nails and has all these scratches on her head. I finally put mittens on her hands. I don't remember DD1 doing that and she had terrible cradle cap.

I guess I better work on getting it off with some dandruff shampoo and a comb tonight.
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

  • I've heard olive oil works wonders. With as cold dry and it is, it may be itchy. Hope LO is feeling better soon.

  • L had a pretty mild case and I don't remember him itching. I used baby oil and a soft bristle brush for a few nights during bath time and it really helped to clear it up. Hope LO is feeling better soon!

  • Coconut oil works very well.

I recently read in a baby/parenting magazine that olive oil is not recommended for cradle cap anymore.  It apparently can make it worse.

  • Yes!! It can most definitely be itchy. DS had it pretty bad for almost 1 year! We used olive oil and a soft toothbrush to get the scales off. It would help for a day or 2 and then come back.
DS would claw at his head and face but he also had some eczema. Does your baby have any facial eczema as well?
