How many days of a supply dip before AF?

I'm about to get my second PP AF (DS is 9 1/2 months old) - last month, I dealt with a low supply for a solid 5-6 days before AF arrived. She came and I was like "Ohhhhh...that explains it." Well this month, I've had a major dip in my supply for TEN DAYS. I *think* AF is coming today, but seriously, what the heck.
I'm pumping at work and my little one can not survive on what I'm pumping when this dip happens (one day this week I only pumped 3 oz in two sessions - usually I can get 8 or so). We're already supplementing; I eat oatmeal every morning, I've tried Fenugreek (didn't seem to make a difference), I drink a ton of water, eat healthy, he nurses often when we're together. But this just sucks.

  • I think it's different for everybody.  For me, it was a day or two before, the entire time I had AF, and another day or two after.  Try to compensate with even MORE water.  Look into some good lactation cookies, too! They totally helped me.  I recommend yummymummycookies.com.
