Slower weight gain, 8 week old

About 3 weeks ago I had DS2 weighed while at a check-up for his tongue-tie surgery. He was 10 lbs. 5 oz without a diaper. (and had just nursed)
Today while at a local store with a baby scale, he weighed exactly 11 lbs. with his diaper on. This seems to jive with what I estimated at home based on weighing him on my scale while I'm holding him and just myself. (I just use that method for trends.)  That's only an average of about 3.6 ounces / week instead of the minimum of 5.
Where would you suggest starting to correct the problem?

I can call pedi to have baby checked Monday. I had a similar issue with DS1 between the 2 and 4 month visit, but was able to bring his weight up. (I had had mastitis after Christmas. And, DS1 had started sleeping for longer stretches as night, but perhaps should have been woken up instead of just letting him sleep. Also DH had been to the ER for a kidney stone and then was unable to help for several weeks. As were my parents after that as they got sick.)

DS2 had just had his 6 week growth spurt on New Year's Eve. It's not for lack of nursing. He nursed 15 times then in a 24 hour period. But here recently, there were 2 nights this week where he went for several stretches, say 5 and 4 hours, between waking me to nurse at night.

Could it be stress? DH was out of town this week, and DS1, who is 3, has been off of mom's day out for the past 3 weeks due to Christmas break and the inclimate weather. Also, DH will be out of town again next week to interview for a job that would require us to move across the country.

Also, I seem to have fast let-down, where he'll gag sometimes and stop nursing. I mentioned that to the lactation consultant and she didn't think I had that problem since my milk was not squirting out of the other side. But, since then, the one time he pulled off, there was milk still squirting out of the side that he was nursing on, all by itself. (Maybe out of 1-2 holes.)

If I check with another lactation consultant, I would look for another one.

Baby's up. So, I'll leave it at this. But any suggestions based on a similar experience would be appreciated!
