Rice cereal bottle user?

How much do you put in LO's bottles? The Doctor wants me to put 1 tablespoon per ounce and I think its to much, so I've been doing 1 tablespoon per 2 ounces.

Is your baby having trouble gaining weight? We feed baby oatmeal mixed with fruit purée.

Yes he is and he also has Reflux.

Thanks. He did go down in the amount that he eats. I'm going to go back down to a tsp.

Thanks but he is on Elecare due to being allergic to milk and soy. I'm going to cut back on the rice cereal cause I think it might be messing with his tummy. He is now 14 lbs(Yay!!). It was his Pedi GI doctor that put him on the rice cereal but it hasn't helped with his reflux but going to try and give it a few more days to see if he gets any better

Yes, check those labels! My nephew is allergic/anaphylatic to dairy, eggs and peanuts. We always check labels, always! At one point they thought he was allergic to soy too. Hopefully your LO will grow out of those allergies. 

anything that says whey protein has milk in it. 

Edit: I was just reading my rice cereal (gerber), and it has soy lecithin in it. I researched and it says it should be OK, but can still cause an allergic reaction.

AcrosthecBeary+Ghastly - Yes I check every label. He doesn't get anything that has milk or soy in it, even hidden milk and soy. He is on Beechnut Cereal which is allergy free

Yes, I really don't think most Pedis know a lot about MSPI. I think most are stuck back in the older days of when you give goats milk if the baby can't handle formula.

Definitely. @RedCherry1109 if you need resources or want to talk to someone about it, i'm always here. Like I said, my nephew has a ton of allergies, and I know a thing or two about it- plus, we're basically neighbors!

Beary+Ghastly Thank you! I'm pretty update date on allergies and know what to expect. All of my kids have had MSPI as babies. DS1 was the worse and lasted til he was almost 3 years old although DS3 might be close to him.
