Pronounced Jay-Elle. I am sure most people won't like the name, but we love it, and the story behind it. Stuck on a middle name though. Any suggestions?

I think that this pronunciation sounds too much like jail. I do like the name and it's traditional pronunciation.
I used to work with a Yael, pron yah-elle.
Not sure if that is an Americanized spelling or not, but I was always struck with how pretty her name is/ was, and most people said her name correctly without much trouble.
Add me to the camp of thinking it's a little silly to pick a name from a particular culture and knowingly mispronounce it.

OP, the difference to me is, pronouncing Joshua with a J-sound doesn't make it sound like a prison. The Hebrew name is spelled and pronounced differently. We also knew that the Hebrew name for Gabriel was Gavriel but because there is a legit english alternative, we used that rather than take a legit spelling and change the pronunciation to fit our personal ideals.
Pronouncing Jael Jay-el just sounds like you're naming your kid jail.
