Hi! Newb intro

Hi all! I am not new to TB, but I used to post on some of the other boards. I'm 41 and have a little girl (Pip) who just turned 2. My H and I have been trying for a sib for Pip since Aug. 2012 and haven't had any luck. I did have a BFP last Feb., but it turned out to be a CP. We also had a son (Ace) in July of 2011, but he was stillborn due to a cord accident. I was pretty surprised that we were having such a hard time conceiving this time around (first shot with Ace, 6 cycles for Pip), but judging from my FSH, AMH and Estrodiol, etc. looks like my eggs are going to hell - rapidly. I wish we would have gone to get help sooner - the OB/GYN said that I had "proven" myself before so she saw no reason why I couldn't get a BPF soon, so we kept trying until last July and then contacted a fertility center.

After a lot of tests and one surgery to remove a septum in my ute, we tried IUI in November - no dice. I had bronchitis during that cycle and I never ovulate when I'm sick - so my theory is that even with the HCG trigger I didn't ovulate. My Progesterone was 2, so that pretty much confirms it (I never have low progesterone). We decided to take December off, get myself healthy and now we're jumping right into IVF. I'll be starting with the testosterone gel, estrace, etc. in a about a week and half when cd 1 hits. I'm not really sure what to expect - but it doesn't sound like it's going to be uber-pleasant (giant ovaries, possible weight-gain and my face always has hormone breakouts, so I'm thinking I should stop at Costco and buy a tub of Clearasil). Any stories of your experiences would be tremendously welcome!

I never would have imagined trying to get pg at 41. However, DH & I really want Pip to have a sib. If it doesn't happen, I can make peace with that - but I just want to be able to say that we tried everything in our power to have another baby. The plan is to do one cycle and if it doesn't work - well, we will let it go and move forward with life.
