I'm not naming my hypothetical daughter a name that she will be told her whole life is because of grandma X when in reality it's not, yes.  It's a great name, but it's not worth the hassle for me or hypothetical child.  Would you name your child something knowing that MIL would run around saying "she's named after me!"?

@lisarene77 There is something about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I use it in the morning while I'm getting ready too. We've already decided his theme for his birthday will be Mickey Mouse. Ohhh well. There are worse things you could do as a parent... like smoke pot while you're pregnant and then ask if the newborn will test clean. I think we win on the parenting front.

LO doesn't really care about TV unless sports are on, she loves them. So strange. My mom thinks because we get into games that are on she is interested too...who knows.

Actually yes I did do this. I had a girls name in mind years before I ever even met DH. When we talked about baby names he loved it too so we went with it. Her name is Anslee. My MIL's middle name is Ann and she told us once that we must have named DD after her. I told her no, not at all. It had nothing to do with her. She got pissed but IDGAF. MIL mentioned it again once more at a family gathering at which time DH & I immediatly told her, and everyone, that MIL was wrong. If she's said it again after getting called out in front of family, I don't know about it but it doesn't matter anyway. We know why we chose the name we did and it's not my problem that MIL is so self-centered she has to make crap up. Grow a pair if your MIL says something about it.

It's not about growing a pair.  It's about the fact that telling my MIL in front of the president wouldn't stop her.  We have something similar going on now with this LO and it doesn't matter how many times I say "that's not his name" in various tones of pissed off, they still call him something that drives me crazy.  It's just their personality.  I don't want to name my kid "Rebekah but not named after her GMA Becca" . I am choosing not to deal with that for the rest of my life.  (these are all analogies)

We made MegaBed this week. I'm so stinkin happy about lol, I loved SuperBed when my girls were young.

And since its obviously a made up term, we cosleep/bedshare, and since my daughters are 15 months apart, obviously that creates space issues. So then we had 2 queens, which we pushed together on the floor, and made super bed. Well now we have a king and a queen pushed together on the floor, and its fabulous. I'm all like

Last week our microwave and refrigerator broke on the same day. Last night our washing machine stopped working. I am convinced our house is cursed. All this, plus the break-in in November, make me really hope I can convince my bf that we need to move sooner rather than later. My confession: I'm glad this stuff broke, so I can use it as leverage to move.
