Anyone VBAC (or attempt a vbac) after IVF?

I am asking for a girl on a vbac community I am on.  She is doing IVF and concerned that healthcare providers are saying no because of her ART history.  Basically, they are telling her no because they claim IVF automatically makes you high risk so no vbac???  This makes zero sense to me. I think they are just looking for an excuse to tell her no.  Please let me know your experiences...even if it led to a RCS.

I had a c/s with Lila due to presentation and prematurity. If I am fortunate enough to have a second I will certainly attempt a VBAC. In fact any OB who routinely suggests RCS is not someone I will use. I suggest your friend consider using a CNM rather than OB. It seems to be that the risks of VBAC are grossly overstated and the risks of RCS understated.

@MoFree - I completely agree! I hope to VBAC, too.  She is in New Jersey and apparently NJ has some stricter-than-usual VBAC regulations/guidelines. 

More than anything, I was a little annoyed at the people telling her that IVF innately made you high risk.  I've been to 6 RE's and consulted about IVF...never did anyone tell me I would be high risk or ineligible for VBAC only by virtue of the fact that I would be doing IVF.  In fact, one RE told me that if I wanted a VBAC, I should probably wait a little bit because at the time I was only about 5 months post-partum.

There are some OB practices out there that routinely classify any IVF pregnancy as high risk. That seems silly to me, but there have been lots of posts and questions about that over the years on the boards. Certainly not all OBs (or most, I'd venture) do this, so one can certainly shop around to find a VBAC friendly practice.

I did IVF and was never considered high risk.  Maybe every practice is different, but once I graduated from the RE and started with my OB, I was treated like every other pregnant woman!

Not at this point, but my OB knows I did IVF and will more than likely have to go through it again for number two. We've talked extensively about this and she said (depending on how the pregnancy goes and how baby grows) I would be a good candidate for a VBAC next time around. I was also not ever considered high risk because of IVF.

No experience, sorry but this conversation is what I had back in April.

I did IVF and had a VBAC - I've never heard it has anything to do with having done IVF - I'm with others I would switch doctors.

I had my twins via c section due to prematurity and cord around the neck. My dr was thrilled that the ob that did c section was able to bikini cut incision so I could have a vbac in the futher.
