Intro & Question

Hi Ladies!  I am very excited to say I get to join the 1st trimester board after 2 years of actively trying to conceive...still a bit in shock actually!  I have not had my first appointment but best guess I am about 5 weeks along.

Here is my question or dilemma rather...I began a new job at the beginning of December.  In that time I have already missed part of work due to a previously scheduled doctors appointment with my ob to discuss infertility options, which I guess was not necessary in hindsight.  I am choosing to not work with an ob for my pregnancy and instead with a group of Midwives at a Birth Center which due to my location, the closest one is about an hour to an hour and a half away.  So each appointment is going to require me missing a good deal of work.

I work for a real estate office, so I essentially report to the office manager and then 3 seperate agents as well.  If you were in my place do you think you would come clean with at least the office manager?  I don't really want it out this early especially because it is a relatively new job but at the same time I don't want her to think I am out of the office playing hooky either.  Ironically I think I finally became pregnant when I did because I left a highly stressful job that I lived and breathed.

Any advice would be helpful!  Sorry this is so long.

I wouldn't tell anyone yet; I've heard too many horror stories about people who were sworn to silence who spilled the beans.  You're also trying to prove yourself at a new job; why end up being "the woman we hired who got pregnant" before you show them just how awesome you are?

Especially in your first trimester, you won't have many appointments yet.  I'd simply tell her you have a doctor's appointment for a checkup and/or followup.  If she asks any questions, give her vague answers.
