Daycare and Sleeping Changes?

I started back at work this Monday, and since Sunday night DD has been waking up every 2 hours to nurse overnight. She's not a consistent sleeper, but before this would generally go 4-8 hours at least at night since she was a few weeks old. Has anyone else gone through this when LO's routine changed?

DD is 3.5 months old and went to DC for a few days last week to ease in. DD LOVES DC and is so smiley and happy there and when she comes home. She sleeps less there than she does at home (just not used to the environment yet) and eats 3-4 3-4oz bottles during the day. I EBF at home, so figuring out how much to pump for her to have at DC was a bit of a mystery but she seems satisfied during the day with what I'm sending.

My gut is to give her a few more days to see if it all settles down before I start trying to figure it out. Has anyone else been through similar? Is she needing to eat more at DC? Any other thoughts, tips or tricks?

Re: Daycare and Sleeping Changes?

  • My first thought was that she's pretty close to a growth spurt time period, and changes in a routine will throw her off, so you've probably got 2 things happening at once.  I agree that as she gets more settled in to her DC routine you should see some improvement with night time.
