My LO is currently 6 weeks old. I see him becoming more alert, smiling and cooing-which makes me look forward to more of that! But 10-20 mins after being up he freaks out, screams and stretches his body out and tightens it. It's like dr Jekly and me Hyde....especially between 8-10pm. I know this is bc he is overstimulated/overtired. It takes 20-30 mins of rocking and screaming outbursts just to get him to sleep. Then he might wake up 5 mins after that and I have to do it all over again!! My patience is gone by then. When does this tough part stop and my little man is up more as a happy baby?? Anyone else experiencing the same??
Re: 6 wk old-when does it get better?
Please look up "Happiest Baby on the Block". DH and I followed these steps with DS when he was 4ish weeks old through 4 months and it made a DRASTIC difference. We were also at our wits end at that point. My pedi recommended it and let us borrow a video.
Totally worth it and helps to save your sanity. We didn't think it would work but after watching the video and trying the 5 S's.... DS was calm and content.
