Swelling

I just had a c section on January 4th and had no swelling. I got home tonight and my ankles and calves are quite swollen!!! Is this normal???

I didn't have any swelling in my legs/feet after having a cesarean. Not sure if it's normal though. Do you have an advice nurse you can call?

New swelling should be reported immediately, as it could indicate a heart problem.
I had lots of swelling, but it started in the hospital.
Eta: i'm not trying to scare you, and there are lots of non-scary causes of swelling, but just be sure to take it seriously and get your care provider's (or nurse line, etc) informed medical opinion.

I should add I was on hospital bed rest for 37 days. With my twins being in the NICU, I've been on my feet a lot. I have an appointment tomorrow morning.

I don't think it's "normal" but may not be serious either. Then again, best to call the doc to be sure.

I swelled a lot while in the hospital after my c section. Which is normal because you are pumped full of fluids. But after leaving the hospital I'm not sure about. I would call you doc to double check.

Ooommmgggg the swelling is NUTS! I didnt swell at all when pregnant but my legs, hips, and feet were all balloons. It went away a few days ago once I was able to sleep flat in bed. I'm not sure if this was coincidence or not but yes, I didn't recognize my body. My hips are still swollen I'm guessing from the partial vaginal birth I attempted

Glad I'm not the only one!!!! I had my appointment today and they said it's normal and can be 2 weeks before it gets better. I'm glad yours has gotten better!!!

Totally normal! Your body is trying to get rid of all of the extra water from your pregnancy. If you are worried, though, call your doctor.
