What baby gate do you have and would you recommend it? I saw it in your HDBD photo. We have the same type of stairs and I wasn't paying attention and bought a tension only gate which cannot be installed on our stairs. Right now we are using one of those corral style gates that we got for free wrapped around the stairs but that is a pain.

Re: Litgirl77

  • We had a really hard time finding one that would work but ended up with this one.

It comes with the attachments for the banisters. We had to drill into the bottom, because ours are flat/square there and then round the rest of the way up. I wanted to avoid drilling, but oh well!

We've had it up for 2 weeks now, so I don't have a ton of experience with it. But I will say it's working out so far. It slips a bit where the round attachment things are, and it's a little hard to latch, but I can still do it one handed while holding LO.

    Hope that helps!

  • Thanks! Most baby gates get terrible reviews which makes it hard to decide. That and buying a gate that doesn't work. I saw a blog online where they used wood and zip ties so you don't have to screw into the banister and just screw into the 2x4, but then I bought a tension only gate by mistake.
