Our renters have moved out of our other home today :>(
Which means we have 2 weeks before we have to make a mortgage payment on it...
DH is at the house right now showing it (18 people showed up with their forms filled out).
You'd think we would have no problem because it is in a hot neighborhood but our floor plan stinks. Think double shot gun 1914 bungalow (1bth, no master bedroom) so really only a single person or DINK would really like it.

Re: I need ::luck dust::
Good luck!
Our house is similar in that the bedrooms are TINY and no master with only 1 full bath. So even though the first floor is fabulous (new kitchen, amazing open floor plan) we're having all sorts of trouble selling it because everyone wants a big master suite. Grrrrr.

Sending you luck dust....my husband is at our rental having someone sign the paperwork as we speak. We are leaving on a plane to oklahoma in 2 hours....love the last minute crap!
That is the problem we are having (well except that it doesn't have a fab kitchen).
All the yuppies moving in want "closet space", granite counters and large master bedrooms... uh the house is almost 100 years old..k... you want all that...go buy a new house and stop pretending.
I mean it is stinking cute. I LOVE that house and we plan to move back to it once the kids are out of school and we can renovate it the way we want!

oh, good luck!
We came within 1 week of having to make 2 mortgage payments last year.....luck dust coming your way! : )
and it's really a cute place too!
OMG, that is ADORABLE. DH and I would love to own a house like that! Ours is a '20s house, but it was a pretty provincial house back in the day so it has no nice woodwork (aside from hardwood floors) or detailing or anything like that.
We did put in the granite countertops and stainless appliances. Our kitchen seriously kicks ass. And the house is on a double lot. But the small bedrooms do it every time. There's just not much that can be done about it because of the way the upstairs is set up. Unless you put an addition on the house, there's no big master bedroom. Period.

I love it...
I guess the small bedrooms never bothered me. We have my architect friend going in tomorrow with me to see if there are some minor changes we can do. Like knocking down a non structural support wall or something.
I would love to gut it and restore it to it's original look. The lady we bought it from was a mediocre carpenter and did some not so great things with it.
I am going to go in and repaint all the rooms nuetral/ historic tones and hopefully people will see the beauty. If not MIL will be living in it until it is rented! Which could also be a good thing,
What a great place- good luck!
It's so cute, it should rent itself. I love older places.
