I just discovered a cold sore coming up on my lip and got myself Abreva at the pharmacy, but after reading the instruction leaflet I see that it is not recommended for use during pregnancy!! Anyone have any alternate suggestions?
If it is really bad you can get a prescription from your doctor for Zovirax. It is the meds that came before Valtrex. You can also make some peppermint tea and put the used teabag on it, it sometimes helps it a little. I get horrible cold sores and had one of my worst in years during week 4. Ultimately, I just toughed it out this time, despite the massively swollen glands and flu like symptoms that I got because of the cold sore.

Avoid chapstick! I had a cold sore once and my lips were so dry from the medicine I used chapstick. It eneded up spreading the cold sore to the other side of my mouth. Get rid of any chapsticks or lip glosses.
I get cold sores constantly. Call your dr, but Abreva is okay to use. Pretty much everything is going to say that you need to talk to your dr before using while pregnant. Also, I was given the okay to take Lysine orally for mine.
Re: Cold Sore! Help!
4 rounds of clomid, 2 with IUI = BFN
