Allergic to baby oil?

Ugh, I've learned the hard way not to use baby oil. A's head and especially forehead is seriously broken out this morning. A week or so ago, the same thing happened. I've connected two and two together that both times she broke out I had used baby oil to try to get rid of some cradle cap during bath time. I'm guessing I should invest on some coconut oil? I think olive oil stinks and don't really want to use that. Poor baby girl I feel so bad! Here is a pic. :(

Re: Allergic to baby oil?

  • Baby oil is mineral based and can cause such a reaction. I break out in full on eczema from it. Get the coconut oil already!

  • When I was a teenager I thought I'd try using baby oil to get a tan.  I broke out like that over my entire body! No baby oil in this house. I use coconut oil or almond oil for everything.

  • I have learned the hard way that you can really be allergic to almost anything.  I still don't understand how Pampers immediately give LO's bum a blister-like rash but Huggies do not... it's just bizarre.  I figured out apricot kernel oil works magnificently for LO as a sub for baby oil.
