Lipase?

I am jumping the gun a little since I'm only about 22 weeks pregnant, but it was an issue with DS #1 so I have a feeling it will be with #2 also... I had high amounts of lipase while breastfeeding, but since I stayed home with DS it was never a real issue since I never had to pump. With baby 2, however, I'm hoping to work part time so I will have to pump. Does anyone have any experience with high amounts of lipase? How do you heat the milk? I was looking into the bottle warmer method for heating the milk to 140* but I'm not even sure the warmer reaches temps that high. Has anyone tried a bottle warmer? Good results or bad? Thanks for any info :)

Re: Lipase?

  • I believe that I have read (on here) that just because you have had a lipase issue in the past, it doesn't guarentee it will happen again. When you start pumping, definetly see if you have a problem first before you go scalding all of your milk ;)
