transition from rock and play

We LOVE the rock in plays and the girls in them alot. They have even been sleeping in them at night b/c I could move them around so I could see them from my bed and check on them easily. Here is my concern----they like the incline so much and the coziness, that they really dont like sleeping on flat surfaces...how to you transition to a crib? We did get wedges to put under the sheet, so they could have the incline, and not sure how that will work yet. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. Also, does anyone else worry that they can't stretch out as much in the rock and play? \ Thanks so much!

  • I am a big fan of the Merlin Magic Sleep Suit. It helped transition DS3 to the crib. He LOVED it.

Yes, this! Our twins were in the the RnP for 5 months and the suit allowed for a smooth transition to a flat surface. It wasn't hard to transition them out of it either. Loved it!
  • We just went cold turkey from RNP to cribs because one of my twins was rolling in the RNP. They are 6 months. It hasn't been too bad- they might even be sleeping a little better now than they were. The twin that was doing the rolling just rolls onto his belly now and the one that wasn't still gets his cuddly feeling from being swaddled.

  • OK, so you have convinced me! We are starting the transition to at leat a flat pack and play on Friday before they get too totally used to them. It will be a long weekend :)

  • I'm worried about this as well. Harper is in her RnP at night due to congestion and Nicole is in the crib on a wedge. Even just letting them nap in the RnP makes me worried about transition.

  • Stephanie...your girls are beautiful!
