TTC # 1 Since October 2010 (Not preventing since 2009) November 2013: Applied & Accepted by the Agency January 2014: Home Study, education class, Profiles February 2014: "Officially Waiting"
I was nervously anticipating our first home study visit, but it really turned out to be quite relaxed. It was more like a visit with a new friend and not an inspection. I'd met our social worker at a meeting prior to the start our home study, and knew she was really nice, so that helped. I'm sure it'll go fine and I promise they don't dock you if you don't have a plate of freshly-baked cookies.
Son #1 - September '09 Son #2 - October '11 Son #3 - Hoping to adopt from China some time in 2014!
I
hope your home study visit went well! We had ours in August and were approved
in September. I was very very nervous, too, but in retrospect had nothing to
worry about. Our profile and website were finalized in November so now we are
just waiting. Our downstairs bathroom renovation was supposed to be completed
before the SW came and due to unforeseen circumstances the floor couldn't be
completed. Our toilet was being stored in our dining room and that's where it
was when the SW came! I was upset about it at the time, but it didn't even
matter - she wasn't looking for perfection, she was looking for people that can
be good parents!
Thanks ladies you were all right. It was very laid back and relaxed. About 45 min and done! She's really nice and we get along with her very well. We should be starting our classes on the 23rd of this month!! So excited!
