DH successfully made his deposit this am and all 8 frozen eggs survived the thaw.. Hoping for a big party in the petri dish today/tonight. Fert report tomorrow. Trying to take this all in stride. Poor DH may not make it home tonight. His second flight is already listed as a 2:50 hr delay.. Have a feeling he's getting stuck at BWI tonight. I just heard that JetBlue is shutting down at Logan at 5pm tonight to try to catch up on their travel delays. Glad I didn't book him there (he's coming into to Providence instead). But getting to Atlanta was more important than getting home.. Now that his sample is done, he can drink away in the airport bar, lol.

Thanks for adding me to the group, but we got a second opinion (same clinic) and are trying one last cycle with my OE. This is our Hail Mary cycle. Hopefully this cycle is a success, but if not I will be joining you ladies in a few months. I have my FX for all of you!

QOTW: I go to the movies like twice a year but in the last week I've seen American Hustle, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Saving Mr. Banks. After watching Saving Mr. Banks I rented Mary Poppins because I had never seen it. So 4 movies in a little over a week! I enjoyed all of them, but Water Mitty and Mr. Banks were my favorite.

Twinkie - Good luck with your OE cycle! As 2mamaz said, if for some reason you need to come back, we will welcome you. But I'm hopeful for this hail mary cycle for you!

cee - I'm sorry you're in limbo. I hope you're able to get things moving along as soon as you feel ready *big hugs*

AFM - I'm waiting for my first OB apt on Thursday and I'm really anxious. I think I associate this OB with bad appointments because during pg/mc #1 that's all we had with him. And then the D&C. So I'm oddly excited to go, but also very nervous!

QOTW: I'm in the middle of watching a movie called Antiviral on amazon. Haven't finished it yet but it's intriguing and disturbing so far. Just the way I like it. My favorite movie of all time is Requiem for a Dream. Also disturbing. Guess that's just my taste!

Update: Had a great NST this morning (that is 4 in a row where little guy cooperated!!!!) and we are set for induction on Wednesday. Ca't believe he will be here in 2 days. I am just a mix of awe, excitement, fear, anxiety...everything imaginable. DH and I spent all day yesterday cooking and packaging up a ton of freezer meals so we don't have to worry about cooking for at least a month..lol. And I think we officially finished Caleb's room on Saturday...still haven't managed to pack the hospital bag yet though. 

QOTD: I haven't seen a movie in forever with being on bed rest and for as much as I love to read, haven't really done much leisure reading lately either (choosing sleep..lol).

I had another u/s this morning and the babies have grown so much! I guess they were livin' it up in there while I was knocked out with the flu. I'm starting to feel much better, but I just had a 2+ hour nap so I'm still getting worn out easily. Hopefully when I hear back from my RE's office today they'll let me know when I'm released so I can set my 1st OB appt.

QOTW: The last new movie I saw was Lone Ranger and that was awhile ago. It was cute.

Afm - our follow up was reassuring.

I didnt realize a good amount of the embryos from the last cycle were growing abnormally. Overall, despite the fact that we transferred the good ones, for the majority of the embryos the quality just wasnt there. My RE is convinced it was a bad cycle for our donor. He was encouraged our new donor has previously donated to a frozen egg bank and was asked by them to donate again.

I am relieved. He assured us if we kept trying, 'it will work'. I don't think he would tell us this if he didnt sincerely believe it. I'll be on prescription folic acid and baby aspirin.

Qotw- we love going to the movies in the winter. We recently saw American Hustle and it was hilarious!

I'm such a nervous Nellie right now. Waiting for our first ever social worker to come to our house and meet with us for foster adoption meeting. Yah we're doing both right now... Fosadopt and a FET. I need this so it's what I'm doing.
As for my lupron I took it a day late but it's in and this thurs is my endo scratch and last BCP. Then first ultrasound on the 17th.

Hi ladies.

Tomorrow I go in for my beta. I'm not optimistic at all. I still think someone messed up my trigger time- but I know little about IUI. Anyway, I still think the cycle was plagued with nothing but bad luck.

DH has said he will no longer try any procedures with his sperm. That makes me really want to have my own eggs work, but its still only 2 more IUIs until I'm out of the genetics race too and we go the DE/DS route. I promised DH I would be a good little patient and no ask the RE a million questions and just listen and follow directions for one cycle- so I intend to make a huge list of questions beforehand- this way DH will be happy. He hates when I question everything or I try to understand everything. 

I have my appt with Dr. Kwak-Kim in less than a month- so I'm getting excited about that. I'm so drained otherwise. These stupid progesterone suppositories must be put in every 6 hours- so I've only been getting about 5 hours sleep for the last 2 weeks- So if my beta is negative at least I'll be able to sleep for 12 hours as soon as I get home tomorrow.

ETA QOTW: We just saw Frozen and Saving Mr. Banks. Both were very good- but I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a Disney movie.

Hi everyone!  My NT scan today went just fine.  Baby was moving all around; it was hard to get him/her to sit still for measurements!  S/he is measuring right on target, HB 149, nasal bone present, good NT thickness (under 2mm).  I feel so much better now.  I wasn't sure there was going to be a living baby in there.  My symptoms have been so mild.

QOTW:  I haven't seen any movies/TV lately but have been reading The Goldfinch -- the latest by Donna Tartt.  Highly recommend/very good read.

AFM: We have signed our consent forms for our DE IVF.  Only 8 more days on BCPs, my baseline is on the 20th!!  Tentative DE retrieval is 1/24.  I hope for no hiccups along the way!!

QOTW:  Over the last few months DH and I have seen Hunger Games, Enders Game, The Hobbit, and Frozen.  I really enjoyed the first three listed.  I know I am the minority, but I didn't love Frozen, to be honest I was board and fell asleep ::cheeks pink up with embarrassment::

Check in: Our appointment is Thursday and I'm really hopeful that our GC can start her meds. They told us we can expect to do a Feb transfer if all goes well, so I'm starting to get really excited! Other than that, it's just been paying a ton of bills related to all of this. It is kind of depressing how expensive everything is. 

QOTW: Nothing good as of late. I'm re-reading Harry Potter because I forgot to check out a new book on my Nook. I got nothing here!

I am waiting to hear back from the RE about a donor I like, it looks like she will be cycling in March and we can possibly join in on that. Still not sure, but if things look ok with the cost etc, maybe we can swing it. Otherwise I am just going to try and stay focused on my DH and I and see what happens...

Catching Fire, and Hobbit were the latest movies and I have Alligant sitting on my coffee table, so I am ready for a day home with nothing to do so I can get started on that :-)

Hi all!
Sometimes I get the check-in posted which takes a while and then I forget to actually post! Duh!

Ok - so all up I'm doing ok. 8w tomorrow! We had a u/s on Friday and all was well and I'm super happy with our MFM practice we're at. I feel like I'm getting midwife-grade attention with high-tech attributes and I love it. Each appt. I am there 1-3 hours! A lot of time but I'll take it. They also offered me a u/s anytime, she said "don't get stressed, just call and come in - the triage nurse has a little portable u/s we can use to see the baby and send you on your way feeling better." That is a nice offer!

I have been struggling a lot with PAGL feelings - I think there is a huge aspect of my loss in March that I haven't processed, or so it's seeming. Usual stuff - anger, sadness, fear, anxiety - so I got the name of a counselor who deals with reproductive issues and am going to go see her. I don't want this pregnancy to be totally joyless. And, I hate feeling sad/bad so much, it's just not how I roll. So, I will tackle that in the next week or so!

Otherwise, just cooking along. There are a ZILLION shout-outs but overall it's great to see so much action/good stuff going on. @Brooklynesque I'm so glad your NT was great! And @Mrs.McIrish, WOW on that fert report!! I was afraid of frozen eggs but if this baby doesn't pan out, that is our plan so exciting to see success! Hugs all around everyone!

QOTW: We saw that movie "Her" and I really thought it was innovative and entertaining, and, interesting! I'd recommend it. Also we are slogging through the entire series of "The West Wing" on Netflix, nice and easy to watch but engaging...and not binge-worthy, so I don't end up staying up to late for 'just one more episode' like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black!

AFM - just got back from our farewell appointment with RE.  The little one actually waved at us during the u/s - - it was magical!  We have our first OB appointment next week.  I think that is when we will start the various tests (which makes me pretty nervous).  Overall - things are going very well despite being pretty tired & feeling icky ;-)

AFM- since cycle was cancelled last month, I have just been getting through the holidays waiting to start my next and hopefully last cycle, FX'd. I think it is starting to take its toll on me. I'll get through it though.

It took forever for me to get my period after our cancelled cycle in early December, but I finally got it and am on CD4. I started BCPs on Monday evening. We're doing the long protocol this time around, but I will do two weeks of BCPs, adding lupron starting on the 13th. Then I'll get my period and we'll go in for a suppression check and, if everything checks out, I will start stimming. We are now looking at an early February ER.

@Manada got her period much sooner than I did, so she she has already been on BCPs for 3 weeks. She will do one more week and then will stop to get a period. Then she'll start estrace to start building a lining while I get ready to start stimming.

QOTW: M and I have used movies as a major escape/outlet/coping strategy throughout this TTC and infertility process. Recently we've seen (in order of best to worst): Catching Fire, Frozen, Delivery Man, Enough Said, Philomena, and American Hustle. All are worth seeing, but I found American Hustle disappointing and slow given all the hype. Philomena is a better movie than Delivery Man, but I found it sad (as well as heart-warming) whereas Delivery Man made me feel happy and heart-warmed. I generally prefer to watch movies that either make me happy and heart-warmed (hence my thing for rom coms) or that are escapist action flicks.

We're currently listening to Allegiant on audio book, and it is really good.

Canadian Netflix just added Suits, Call the Midwife, and Once Upon a Time and we're watching all three and loving them (although M has gotten sick of Once Upon a Time, so that may become a just-me show).

Huge huge HUGS for those who are suffering this week!! And big congrats for all the good news I see on here!!

I haven't been around lately as the holidays have been crazy for the last like 3 weeks. Finally celebrated Christmas the other day and now on to getting back on track for our EA Journey!

I've contacted Bethany to do the home study, since ultimately we've decided if this doesn't work (or even if does - not sure yet) - we will be doing DIA with Bethany. And at the same time I'm trying to get an appointment with my Dr so that he could do the blood work for NEDC. We were supposed to go last Saturday but because of the blizzard, they were closed and now this saturday my uncle will be leaving and we gotta take him to the airport so ... We are hoping that next Tuesday we will finally go to the doc.

QOTW: haven't been able to see any movies but I wanna see the wolf on wall street and american hustler. I have read the entire vampire academy series (really really good!! Can't wait for the movie!!) And the bloodlines series, and a cute book called the Cinderella moment. As for TV, my husband and I are watching sons of anarchy (I can't believe how good it is) and I'm watching orange is the new black - very raunchy but pretty good!

For those reading allegiant ... When you are done with the book, let me know how you liked it? And if you are going to see the divergent movie?

@stinkerbell6879 the donor you're thinking about using, does what you said mean that you'll share resulting eggs with another couple?

QOTW: I saw catching fire the day before it came out (my husband is the GM for a movie theater), which was really nice because we had the whole theater to ourselves  I just finished reading Life After Life by Kate Atkinson which was VERY good, but if you read it I would highly recommend taking notes as you read based on the dates at the beginning of the book, it's confusing otherwise.  I'm also going to be starting to do TapouT (workout program)... I need to lose 10 more pounds before I can attempt to get pregnant again.

@sarahjeri...yes we only get a small 5-8 of the eggs that are retrieved. It's a way to help off set the cost.

@stinkerbell6879 have you guys done the shared eggs before?  What portions are a lesser cost?  5-8 is still really good (I think) we had 7 with our donor.
