Post frenectomy fussiness

So Friday was DS's SECOND frenectomy at 8 weeks. First was at 6 days, grew back, hence needing second frenectomy at 8 weeks (tongue tie clipped).
It is now Monday - he is SO fussy. Screams to latch. Trouble sleeping is the hardest part, will sleep for a short time - 10-20 min, then wake up and SCREAM. Poor guy only got 2 hours of sleep last night. I'm really worried about him. I know it's probably related to his tongue pain, but this time around is SO much worse than the first.
Anyone have similar experiences with their LO at this age? Or is this just related to his "wonder week"?
