I saw the creator talking about the actor playing Matthew leaving. Apparently British acting contracts are only for 3 years, so actors-actresses only plan on staying for that long. (Ex A-Sybil, Ex B-Matthew). British fans are used to characters leaving since it is a common thing for actors to move on. Also, the actor who plays Matthew is doing VERY well and is in production to film 3 movies.
I am such a nerd bc I "liked" PBS on FB and they have been showing clips and interviews the past few days. Then I stalked YouTube for other info.
Also, soooo excited bc tonight's episode is 2 HOURS!!

I was so frustrated with last season that I'm not even sure if I'll watch--less of the fact that Sybil and Matthew were killed off and more in just how cruddy the writing surrounding that was.  I just felt like the conclusion to the Matthew-Mary arc was not satisfying in the slightest--they had a whole season to bring some closure to things that they just didn't.  Also, I kept finding myself yelling "FORESHADOWING!" at the TV during the entire final episode (I knew he was going to bite it from spoilers but FFS, even if I didn't...).  Guh.

But I'll probably watch on DVD because I can't get enough Dowager Countess.  I'll just skip all the annoying bits (Edith and Mr. Editor, I'm looking at you) and watch her, lol!

I think Sybil's death was worse because I really enjoyed her and Branson's love story. Anna and Bates aren't doing it for me for some reason. I'm bored with their relationship. I enjoyed Mary and Matthew's love story, too. I need another good love story to root for!

I'm kind of glad she was in a funk. I thought she might go back to being a miserable bitch right away . Also, I so hope Edith goes to Germany. I'm so over her and her attaching to any man that'll look at her twice. If she goes to Germany hopefully we won't see her much. I love love love Carson.

I am still really upset about Matthew.  It was 3 seasons of "will they? won't they?", and it seemed like they were only together for a handful of episodes, and he was dead.

I wish we could have had one more season with them together, then kill him off with consumption or something if you really have to.

Yep! She wanted him...bad. I rewatched the last episodes of season 3 recently. And I read somewhere that she was coming back for a few episodes. I forgot about Lord Grantham's thing with the maid!
