  • My DD has a name ending in "ie" so that's why it would be spelt differently than usual. I like both though, also, my DD's name starts with a K.

  • Chelsie looks kinda dumb honestly. There is no good reason to misspell Chelsea.
  • chelsea  only if spelled correctly
  • Chelsea spelled correctly is a great name

  • I'm not into matching sibsets or misspellings, so I vote Chelsea

Exactly this. Why do your dd's need matching spellings?! Either choose a name that ends in ie (Tazie come to mind) or choose one of the two names you mentioned and spell them correctly.
  • I dislike both equally, but if there was like a gun to my head, I would begrudgingly go with Chelsea (spelled this way)... But first I might contemplate death.

  • I think they're both kind of dated, honestly. But I would go with Chelsea I suppose. I have only ever seen Kelsey spelled this way.

  • If you are set on spelling them with an ie, I'd go with Kelsie, since that's actually a spelling variant I've seen before and Chelsie looks bizarre to me. While NMS, if you're going for similar sound with your kids, you don't necessarily need the exact same spelling too, and either Chelsea or Kelsey would work.

    All this.

  • Chelsea, I'm not a fan of place names in general, but this one is nice. But please spell it correctly.

  • Chelsea or like PP said pick a different name that really ends in ie. Elodie, Melanie, Callie, Sadie are all really lovely.
  • I definitely prefer Chelsea.  Kelsey seems a bit dated and "child-like".

  • I prefer Chelsea like pp and ask that you please spell the name correctly or pick another name that matches your DD if you must.

Another vote for either Chelsea or a legit -ie name. Changing the normal spelling of a name solely to match the endings is silly.

  • I love Chelsie... Spelled with an ie. The spelling doesn't make it harder to pronounce... What's the big deal?!

    1) It is setting her daughter up for a lifetime of headaches; no one will ever default to that spelling.

    2) It's juvenile; she can dot the I with a heart! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

I don't like either, but could deal with one or the other if spelled properly. Names that actually end in "ie": Natalie, Rosalie, Ellie, Annie
  • Chelsie looks as if you wanted to name your child Chelsea but did not know how to spell it. I agree with pp's if you must have matchy names pick one with a legit "ie" ending.
