We are visiting my husbands family this weekend. I don't eat meat so they offered to pick up fish for me for dinner tonight. I told them I like all white fish and salmon. They came home with swordfish which I've never really ate. I recalled how I was to avoid it while pregnant so I checked kellymom and it advises against eating it while nursing because its high in mercury. My sister who nursed both her sons said she never heard that before.
Any advice? Should I avoid it and run out to buy something else? Or is it safe? In which case, anyone have yummy tips for preparing it? I've really only ever prepared sea bass, halibut and salmon. Thanks!
Re: Swordfish safe?
Swordfish is one of my favorites. Salt and pepper it and throw it on the grill. I like it with Thai Chilli Paste on the side.
