This is what I have to look forward to on Monday. Our area schools already decided yesterday that they will be closed. I've heard the governor will probably shut down the state (so all government-run jobs and buildings would be closed). Unfortunately, my work decided to stay open (which stinks because a lot of kids walk to us).

Anyone else looking at having temps like these?

Yep, I live in WI too. My DH went to Kwik Trip to get milk for the impending cold and they were sold out. Our school hasn't closed yet but I'm sure they will Sunday night.

Holy shit. It snowed Thur-Fri in the NE and last night it was -6F. I thought that was cray. But this, this is just effing ridiculous! Of course, my DH is very concerned about the football game in Green Bay tomorrow...

We have one going in the living room. It's 68 in here.

It goes further than Nashville. The low is 3* on Monday in Atlanta.

I'm in northern IL right near the IL/WI border on the lake and we're expecting -50 or lower for windchill. I am SO not thrilled.

How many people have told you to stay in? I fully expect people are telling you how fragile Henry is and you shouldn't leave the house.

Im from the Atlanta area as well and they say Monday is suppose to be bad. Im hoping that I'll still be able to make it to work, but I guess we will see.

None yet, surprisingly. I did tell DH that I am thrilled to be on mat leave still, though, so I don't have to go anywhere.

Well luckily I don't think it will get crazy cold til overnight Sunday (though a high of 3 doesn't sound awesome). I almost bought tickets for that game too! Now I'm glad I didn't cuz I'm a baby.

Monday is going to be very cold for us.  Negative 5 for a high.  Praying our water pipes are ok.  

DH works for a big box store and said it was insane today.  Worst than black friday.

It's been like that all week here in Maine. Woke up to only -19 this am, but it finally got into single digits during the day. Earlier in the week was down to -47 at night. Do people really close work other states for frigid temps?

It depends. IMO my work should close because we serve kids, many who walk to us. And I don't want any of my kiddos to step foot outside to get to us. Many of them don't even own a jacket, mittens, hat, etc. They come to us in sweatshirts.

Yep...I live in Minnesota. The schools have already been cancelled for Monday. I unfortunately will still have to suck it up and work like every other adult who doesn't work for the school districts

Um, yeah. It has basically been snowing non-stop in Chicago since NYE. It literally started to snow at 12:30 a.m. on NYE ... I remember this because my uncle got married that day and his wedding started at 1. I think the snow stopped for a little while last weekend, for like 48 hours. Then of course, there's tomorrow's projected temps of -15. I HATE WINTER.

Here in MN the Governor shut down schools, most business are closed/closing early including restaurants, food stores, etc. Kids have no school tomorrow as well and many companies including mine shut down. It was -24 with a -50 windchill last night and has not warmed up much!

It's 7 degrees here, windchill -6, which to me is already as cold as balls, but yours is much worse.

Same stuff here in Illinois. It's currently -9 with a -30 wind chill. I refuse to leave the house. Thank god I'm off work until Thursday.

We are currently facing blizzard conditions in western NY. I work in sales in the dairy industry and I asked my boss if we would close tomorrow. He informed me that we never close because it's a 24 hour industry. He also said that me and a few other guys have no excuse because we live less than ten minutes away. So I will be stuck sitting in my office doing work after a hazardous drive in, when I very well could have been stuck sitting in my house doing work. Lovely. Hope all you who have off tomorrow have a good day!
