I wouldn't do it. We have avoided several names because of weird initials. I'm really picky and also look at what the initials would be with the last name in the center like on some monograms.
Deal breaker. I dated a guy once whose initials were RAT and I laughed every time I thought about it.
Married 08.06 Started TTC 05.08 Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH DH: perfect 1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p 2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
Before I got married, my initials spelled ELF, which I admit is not as tease-able as GAS. I hated it. Every time we wrote initials on something in grade school someone would make a comment about it. It was annoying. I think GAS would be even worse because of the potential for fart jokes.
That being said, as an adult I can look back and feel like it wasn't that big of a deal. Everyone gets teased for something in grade school, and if not your initials, there will be something else at some point. So I don't think it would be a total deal breaker for me.
Also, Grace Adele is the name of a purse line made by the Scentsy company. It might not even be around anymore in a few years, but something to think about.
My mom and SD decided to use my SD's deceased brother's first and middle names as my brothers' middle names. Eric Steven. They skipped naming my one brother Logan Steven, as their last name starts with a D, and I distinctly remember that was the reason. So instead it is Logan Eric and Matthew Steven. Kids will always find something to tease about, but giving them something super easy like questionable initials only seems to beg for a teasing.
I'd go with the suggestion of Adele Grace if you are set on combining the two.
I think it would be a deal breaker for me. Our top girl name is Grace also and we specifically won't use an "A" name for the middle name bc our last name starts with "G" so initials would be GAG. Can't do it.
My married initials are LRG and I have gotten a few "Haha, it spells large!" comments from people.
It's beautiful, but those initials would be a deal breaker for me, too. Apart from switching the names around, which I think is a good idea, can you think of any similar names to either Grace or Adele that start with a different letter?

Thanks for all your advice!!! I agree. I like Adele grace but there are so many addeys and I'm scared it will get shortened to addy. I like Adele and it is also a family name and my best friend/cousin with Adele as a middle name named her daughter emaline kinda after me (Emily). So I sorta feel the pressure to reciprocate especially since I like the name
I also really like Grace May but obviously that doesn't use the family name. I've thought about using both middle names but I think they all sound like too much together
Eh, not a big deal to me. Though I was always scared to marrying someone with a last name starting with K because then my initials would be KKK. Not exactly something you'd want monogrammed.
I like them. I knew a girl growing up with 2 middle names and I thought it was so sophisticated.

Would it be Grace May Adele S? Or Grace Adele May S? I like the second a little bit better. And I don't mind a double middle name, except the inability to monogram stuff with all her names would probably upset me.
I have two and it can be a pain sometimes. Growing up, all my IDs had different combinations of my names for whatever reason. I finally got them all consistent after I got married and changed my name. Mine are both family names with meaning behind them, but my kid will only have one.
lol, maybe... My kid's initials are ABC...oh well not as bad as gas. If anything we feel bad that Lola's initials will be LAC....nothing cool about that. Unless she grows up to be a lactation consultant or something.
I'm not a fan of double middle names myself, but I don't have a choice in the matter. DH family tradition is that the child takes the first name of both grandparents.
