Success after IF

High FSH number

I had three miscarriages at 7 1/2, 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 weeks. After numerous testing, the only thing that came up with is a 18.9 fsh level. Has anybody had a healthy pregnancy without assistance and delivered a healthy child? My RE said that ivf and pgd would not help and only option is donor egg. I am not ready to give up yet. Thanks in advance.

Re: High FSH number

  • Thank you ladies for the kind words and encouragement. Glad to hear that it is possible to have healthy little ones. I now need to find a RE that will work with me. Thank you.
  • yes, seek help elsewhere.

I was 34 with elevated FSH and low AMH (see sig). I was told donor eggs would be the best option. I did get pregnant on my own, and I have seen many other similar cases.

    best of luck to you.

  • Ah, hell no!  Pardon my bluntness, but you need to see another doctor asap.  There have been reported cases of women with FSH's at 150-160 carrying a baby to term using their own egg.

18 is nothing is really not that bad in the high fsh world.  You might try the high fsh forum 54 or fertility friend.  There is a lot of useful info there.  I would also get on some supplements to help with egg quality.  I took baby aspirin, either 2000 iu or 3000 iu of D a day and 300 mg of Ubiquinol ( a form of coq10) and got pregnant naturally with high fsh and undetectable amh and low afc.

Not sure where you are but I know some good high fsh friendly doctors/clinics that i have heard food things about are: Cornell, Dr. Check at Cooper, and Houston Fertility Institute.
