Pio Problems, wwyd?

Hello ladies. I just had a FET and it was successful. I am currently 6 weeks and I am taking low dose aspirin, extrace, and doing the pio injections until I am 10 weeks.

The problem is that the pio has left knots all over my lower back and hip area. I hate to complain because I am so lucky to have had a successful cycle, but the pain is terrible. It's starting to spread to the front of my hips and down my legs. I think all the knots are causing my body temperature to be high too, it's been around 99.4 today.

DH thinks I should call and ask for something else progesterone wise, but I hate calling and asking about anything because the nurses tend to be a little rude.

I go in on Tuesday for my first ultrasound, so I wanted to wait it out until then but the high temperature worries me. Any advice or experience with this?

I was on PIO shots with my first cycle. Couple of questions/suggestions for you that might help. Make sure not to ice the PIO and I would warm the vial in my hands before injection and it would help. Also after the injection I rubbed the injection site for a couple of minutes and sat on a heating pad for 15 minutes. Hope this helps I never had any problems. Maybe your allergic or could you try the suppositories? They are more expensive and messy but easy to use.

I'm 5w 3d and also on PIO. It's horrible, last time I had the same issues you were having, but this time it's been easier for me. I'm not entirely sure if this is the reason I found out last time, several weeks in, that I'd been injecting too low.  This time I had them draw the circles (I inject myself) and I've only had one knot and in retrospect, I think I may have injected too low. SO make sure you are injecting into the right spot!
Other helpful hints:
1. warm the oil up - I run it under hot water, or stick the whole vial in my bra until it's warm
2. Inject really slowly and leave the needle in for 10 full seconds after all of the oil is out of the needle.
3. like PP said - definitely rub it in after and use a heating pad.
Honestly, last time (my second time on PIO) I was convinced I'd developed a new allergy... but I didn't because I'm totally fine now with my new system.

Sorry this is happening! I second the rubbing, hard for a few min, also make sure your relaxed, if your tense it can cause more pain, and the heat pad is a dream...
As far as the temp, its not too high yet to worry, 101.4 is when they tell me to call in... So try a cool shower or some tylenol and relax a bit!
Also baby can be the cause of your temp to rise, mine always goes up pregnant! (By always i mean last time with my son, with my loss, and this time! )

Yeah, PIO sucks. Definitely rub the injection site hard after the shot and then use heat. I would leave the heat on for a while. Congratulations!
