Paleo

Any Paleo Mommies here? My Co-worker got me hooked in October, I read The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolfe and completed the Whole30 the same month, I lost 15lbs and kept it off. I got a little side tracked in December due to the holidays but since I got my BFP on 12/26 I've been back at it.

  • It is sometimes nicknamed the "caveman diet" because the foods that you can eat are those that would have been accessible to a caveman, meat, fruits, veggies, nuts etc. You cut out all processed foods including dairy and wheat. Paleo lifestyle has become trendy lately because of the crossfit craze, I believe they incorporate the Paleo nutrition with the crossfit gym. If you are interested I highly recommend The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolfe, it goes into detail about how our bodies process (or don't process) different foods, it's very informative and eye opening.
    The main reason I like it is because I can feel a huge difference in my energy level and the little extra weight I had really melted off. I went from a size 8 to a 6 in about 3 weeks and have kept it off.

  • Yep... also been off it for a couple months but getting back now that I can stomach meat again :)  I feel sooo much better eating this way.  Did a Whole30 last January... following the lifestyle for ~2 years besides a falling out when I became PG.
  • Yes I've been doing it going on 3 years. I love it! I attribute it to being the reason I got back into all of my clothes so soon after pregnancy. Now I do it without even thinking about it. Not only is it what I like to eat but it just makes sense.
  • I haven't been following it since the middle of my first trimester.  But I will definitely go back to Paleo after I have these two babies!

     

  • DH and I are talking about Paleo. I just will miss coffee too much. And creamer :)
  • I was primal until I got pregnant.  Now the sight of meat or veggies sends me running to the bathroom.  My m/s is starting to fade but is still there and I'm trying to slowly make my way back to primal but it's so difficult when nothing sounds good except BREAD!!!!

    I use coconut milk in my coffee now. The canned kind from trader joes is the best.

  • The last few days have been rough for me. Once 1st trimester is over and I am feeling a little better I will try to get back on track. Right now my m/s is only allowing my stomach to tolerate bread. My stomach is so bloated and I know that is partly the reason, I feel gross.
