Babies on the Brain

Second month TTC baby #1

So I have had a few issues trying to get my cycle regular since I got off birth control last april. My Dr. started me on progesteron to jump start my cycle. I got my period Dec. 4, and according to my ovulation stick I got a smily face Dec. 23, my husband and I had sex the day before and later that night. I ended up getting my period Dec. 29th? do you think that my timing was just wrong? maybe I waited to long to have sex, I got the smily at 630am and we didn't have sex until 11pm that night. Anyways trying again this month my period just ended so hopefully this month it'll work out.

    Are you temping?

The OPK's only sense that you are gearing up to ovulate...not that you actually DID ovulate.

My suggestion would be to temp as that is the only way to know that you are indeed ovulating (aside from formal monitoring with an RE or OB).

Also, if indeed you did ovulate on 12/23 and got your period on 12/29, your luteal phase is too short which would make implantation difficult as it tends to need to be about 10 days long for proper implantation to occur.

If I were you, I would want more info...start temping...and read Taking Charge of Your Fertility as well. The sticky's on the TTGP board also offer valuable info. Also, go to FertilityFriend.com to learn how to chart. They have super informative tutorials on all of this.

    Edited to include more info.

  • Ditto W&C. It's also possible that your timing was 100% correct and you just didn't conceive. You only have about a 20% shot of success in any given cycle.

  • Thanks for the help ladies! It's been a rough time trying to get my cycle regulated enough just to try to see if I ovulate! I appreciate the advice
