I'm really late posting this for you ladies, but this is the first time I have had bump time since Carter came. He WAS a Dec baby after all. :-) To those on the West Coast of the US, he was also a Xmas baby. LOL (I'm CST). Carter was born on Dec 26th at 1:43am. (39w 1d) He was 7 lbs 9oz & 20" long. He's absolutely perfect! His big brother Colton was so excited, Carter is officially his baby. Not mommy's. LOL I restricted myself to the couch for Xmas day due to contractions. By evening they came on super intense. I was waiting & waiting for them to come closer than the 6-7 mins they were, but the intensity was just too much. We went to the hospital at about 9pm & I was up to 5cm. (up from 3cm I was Monday before) I finally got the epidural around 11pm & they then broke my water to speed things up. I slept a little. The contractions never came any faster together. The nurse said that just must be how my uterus is. The same happened with DS1. I ended going in due to intensity vs frequency of contractions. Come about 1:30am, the nurse came in to check me. I was at 10cm. The Dr came in & I had no feeling to push, but he said to go ahead. 2 pushes was all it took & he was out! I'm happy to say no stitches or tears this time around so healing is feeling better than after DS1. The contractions were VERY strong in my back & I still feel a lot of aches there. Unfortunately, I brought home one of the worst colds/sinus infections I've ever had from the hospital. So the normal recover + lack of sleep + just being stupid sick has been taking its toll. As we are entering January, I want to send out T & Ps to all those births coming up & any Jan 14 bumpies who have also given birth already. May all your deliveries go smoothly & everyone is healthy! OMG so cute! As much as I hate being hot and 9 months pregnant, I feel really bad for you ladies and terrible colds/flus while at the end, or once you have the baby.
