I slept in. I planned to get up when DH did. But my bed was more inviting than my to do list. I will still get it done, but now with 2 tiny extra hands.
DH called me to go to lunch with him and some guys he works with. Ummm.nope. I am enjoying my green tea and the History Channel. K is sleeping. Me time is better than than loading K up and goinf to the mall food court.
I'm worried about what will happen with my job/our client when I go on maternity leave. I just found out who is replacing me, and I'm not sure it's going to be a smooth transition. The person, while, in general, knows what to do...seems a bit forgetful most of the time. Or doesn't treat matters as urgently as they should.
I'm hoping it goes well, and I want to start going over things with them soon. I'm just not very confident in their ability to take such a huge leap in the job tasks.
Also, DH was a dick yesterday and I'm giving him the silent treatment. Very mature of me. We have plans with friends tonight so I need to cut the shit before we go out, no need to be totally awkward for them
Ugh!!!!!!! It's so hard when you know you're right!!
D got to meet one of his paternal great aunts and second cousin on New Years Day. She made him some polvorones which are like pure sugar and lard. I let him eat three and didn't feel guilty.
I should have been more productive with my snow day.....lesson plans, grading papers, taking down the Christmas decorations, laundry, but when V woke from his nap after 45 min it was so easy to climb into bed with him and nap too. Two hours later....we both just woke up!
@uconnhuskie007 They taste amazing! Most people know them as Mexican wedding cookies. I think most newer recipes call for just butter. But DH's extended family is pretty old school and use manteca for a lot of things still.
Also, I really wanted to hate Miley Cyrus's song wrecking ball because the video looks so dumb and over the top. But I heard the song in the car today and thought it was pretty ok. Why does she have to act so stupid though? God I'm old.
Im still acting like its the holidays. Drank wine last night, a handful of kisses, slept in today and plan on drinking again b/c its Friday. My husband is on a diet, no drinking this month kick and I want no part of it.
I'm really mad at my mom for not respecting my privacy and making assumptions about why I didn't want to join the family in their upstate place for my grandmother's birthday. She seems to think I owe her an explanation for everything I do. I'm so pissed I don't wanna be around her or talk to her. I don't think I've ever been this mad at her.
DH is cooking supper. DD inists upon helping him. So, I am bumping, sipping tea, and planning my tv listening for the evening. It is on; however, I am normally crocheting or some other craft project. I think the BCS games will work.
I think my friend who just had her baby is crazy for taking the rest of the school year off for her maternity leave. And even crazier is her husband is taking 12 weeks off too. I am just not the type to stay at home for so long I guess...i needed back to my regular routine with adult interaction! To each their own but I still think she's Cray Cray.

Dude I get what you are saying but and it was mostly awesome esp because I was sleep deprived and had pp issues but when I was feeling good I enjoyed my life of leisure. Thankfully I live in a very walkable/happening town outside NYC so I was out a lot. I think after 13 years it kind of rejuvenated by batteries ! After I learned I was preg I was so looking forward to ten months off but coming back in sept was great and I think DC is the cat's pajamas!! :P
@pobrecita I use them for DC and for when there's nothing here. Does he like black beans? M loves that and lentils. Also I have a great recipe for turkey meatballs in sauce that even I like if u want me to post.
@pobrecita ever tried applegate farms nuggets? They are yummy and as healthy as frozen can be.
I haven't! I may break down and try. I've been trying to stay away from nuggets and see if he'd actually eat "regular" meat but so far, he won't touch it. Which is a concern since he's slightly anemic.
I tried the earths best nuggets but have the opposite problem.. sam won't eat the breaded stuff.. I have to scrape it down to the chicken for her to eat it....
MIL is driving DH and I nuts complaining about how tired and ill she is all the time. She had originally agreed to babysit 2 days a week when I was prepping my return to work. Then she complained about being tired and only wanting DS one day a week. She constantly forgets what days she has agreed to babysit. She calls multiple times to confirm date/time. She told DH she changed her mind about watching him one week 2 days before hand. I had to cancel meetings at the office.
I don't feel guilty. The sitter may take over MIL's days because she is more reliable. DH agrees.
Also, I need to be at the office more frequently now to train my replacement for when I go on maternity leave. This makes my schedule much more flexible than saying I can only go in Tuesdays.

Not that I've really had time off, but the office was closed, so I have strictly been working from home.

I'm working right now, but not into it.
I can't concentrate. I'm tired. And bored. And uncomfortable.
I want to eat the apple pie I got the other day while no one is home.
SO left so I could apply for jobs... I applied for 2.. then quit looking at posts
You gotta do, what you gotta do.
wouldn't ever call that meat in any sense of the word
:P
