Hi ladies, after being here a while, I'm finally jumping in with my first post! Joined the bump back in August 2012, but was in the middle of a big product launch at work. I mostly lurked on tthe TTC boards, then my birth month board. When I eventually had time to post, my BMB had turned into some sort of super weird high school role playing game. Seriously, there were cliques, and an entire thread dedicated to who the cool kids were and who was just a newb and should be ignored. It was some of the meanest crap I've ever seen on the internet, so yeah, not going back there.
Anyways, I continued to bop around here and there, but have always know we were one and done. Partly money, partly selfish, with a tiny bit of scary birth stuff and the possibility it could happen again and not turn out so bright.
Little monster arrived in May and we've started to get the "When are you having another?" questions. Being in the bay area I would say, in general, people don't usually question your reproductive choices too often, but oddly I'm getting it most from my SIL. She's not rude about it, but you know...yada, yada, sibling love...
My biggest worries are about him being alone when he's older and I'm hoping that sometimes when those worries wash over me and can come here to you lot for a bit of support. I tend to worry about nutty things
So a bit about me: I like ballet and tap and those are my main forms of exercise with some Zumba thrown in. I enjoy really campy sci-fi television, video games, and fashion.
I had gestational diabetes and if any of you are considering OAD while still currently pregnant, I'm happy to discuss my experiences. I also had a "semi" emergency C (is there an acronym for that?) due to what turned out to be a true knot. There's more to the story, some scary bits, but all turned out well.
My eight month old can army crawl, isn't allergic to anything..yet..and enjoys mashed peas, cuddling, trying to chew on the dog and/or her toys.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Re: Intro!...but I've been stalking you hot Mama's for months.
Welcome!!
Welcome!
Btw it never fails to amaze me (whether or not a woman is OAD or not) how soon after you give birth when people start talking about a second one. Crazytown.
Still get a cookie sandwich on occasion.
