Thats awesome!! And do you like the ones with the snaps more, or the ones with the velcro. I used to like the ones with the snaps, but I found that the velcro is able to adjust more.
We did preemie sized disposables until they were big enough to fit into their newborn cloth diapers (prefolds and covers), which was about 6 lbs. Had they not been premature and so small, we would have done cloth from the beginning.

And what is your favorite brand... I know there are a lot.... Bumgenious, cottonbabies, TrendyBums, gdiapers... and a ton of others, I know that these are the more well known ones... My sister uses TrendyBums. she likes them, she told me that they are custom order, I don't know about the others, if they are custom or not... Where did you get yours and how many did you get??
Why would it be a joke?? I just want to know more about cloth diapering, and know what you women think of it, and what the best brands are, if snaps or velcro... or whatever else is better. I just want to be well informed about cloth diapers, and I figured that the "cloth diaper" board would be a good place to get some insight on it.
It depends on if you want to invest in a NB stash or just OS. We used cloth as soon as we got home with A. However, J was do small we had to use preemie disposables before our NB stash fit.
ok... then my other comments are asking other things... maybe I should have asked everything in the opening thing... I didn't really think that it mattered too much, answer what you want... I just want to know about cloth diapers. I didn't think it mattered if I asked more questions too...

ah, I see, I didn't know there was a difference between NB and OS, lol. I thought they were all OS and you just had to go with the flow of the size... haha. I guess you learn something new everyday!!
I'm guessing all of us on the cloth diapering board are pretty pro-cloth diapering. There is no reason you HAVE to use disposables before switching to cloth. There is no rule that says you should start cloth diapering ASAP. It's up to you.
I just didn't know about the NB size, I know my sister had to use
disposables before her baby could fit into the cloth ones, I just
assumed that it was the same for everyone... I just thought all there
was, was just OS. I am doing research into what is better, and what I
would like more, but I thought it would be cool to get other women's
opinions on cloth diapers.
No... I am just a girl that is curious about cloth diapers. Thats not my name... am I offending you someway by posting on here?? I don't know how I possible could because I am not being rude, or aggressive, or anything. I am just asking a question...
I don't know what your talking about... I haven't posted anything from an etsy shop... I have just asked questions regarding cloth diapers. I figured the best place to find out more about cloth diapers would be in the cloth diaper area... I wanted to know what women on here thing of cloth diapers, if they used disposables before hand, I learned about NB sizes, which I didn't know about before, so this board has been very educational. I don't know why you think that I am just spamming around. I am asking a question.

Psh, we also frown on liars. Just because your spam got deleted doesn't mean no one saw it. Oh, and the well placed 'My sister uses TRENDY BUMS!! Awesome, custom made!' isn't going to fool anyone. Believe it or not, we're not stupid here.
Or maybe Babygaga is more your style? LLOL

This is a weird statement from someone who knows nothing about cd.

Sureeeeee
What do women on a CDing board think about CDs? We all hate them
@AFwifelife Every time I see your sig, I wink back and say 'Me too!' then I sip on my martini.

*deep breath* I think that this is sad. Do you guys find joy in berating other people. Ganging up on newcomers... ok. fine, go ahead, be mean, if that what you get kicks off of. sure, why not... I just want to say a few things. my sister uses both the snaps and velcro -- I changed my niece, thats how I know about the fact that I like the velcro more. my sister bought hers through trendybums and they were custom made, idk why that is weird... i wanted to know your opions on different brands, and styles, thats why i came on here, i wasn't saying that you guys hate them or love them, or whatever. I wanted to know why you like them, what is so special about them.
this started out friendly, but i guess you guys couldnt let it go, do you guys all hang out together and find posts and are fun and friendly and all gang up on one person, cause thats how it feels. I think that The Bump has SERIOUS issues with the members on here. how can grown women all for the same goal of a happy family be so mean on here. This is supposed to be a fun website to go to for women who are ttc, and women who have children, and women in general. Women should not berate each other. You don't know what someone is going through at home, maybe someone is getting abused, emotionally or physically... and coming on here thinking that it would be fun to get to know women, would be some kind of let through... but then they get berated and abused on here too. cyber-bullying -- not just for kids anymore. emotional abuse hurts too...
and I know, there is a name in that post. true it is not mine, but if you look at the flag guidelines, it means that I have every right to flag because there is a name, and I'm sure it is not used with permission.

Not a valid reason to flag, but it gets you one step closer to being banned. ETA Using a username isn't against TOU. Although I doubt you care since I've seen you toss flags like you're a ref in the NFL.

Online Vandalism- Posts designed to raise a user’s post count.

this is straight off the guidelines. so yeah, it is a valid reason for flagging.

OP, if you're brand spanking new to cloth diapering and aren't sure where to start, read the FAQs at the top of the page (below the rash FAQs), watch the cloth diapering 101 video series (7 in all) on YouTube, lurk here a bit, and perhaps find a local CD store/boutique so you can look at the different types in person. All of these things helped me when I was starting out.
Holy crap. I stop I feed my children and the thread blows up.
I love it that ITK swoops in to take over
Now I have to give a bath or something. I didn't actually read it all yet. I'll be back!!
I have it easy because my kid is playing hide and seek with her dad right now. Parenting is so much easier when I'm not the one doing it.

So, I was wondering how long you should keep your baby in disposables before switching over to cloth diapers.
OP, if I just give you the benefit of the doubt I still have to say that the wording of your initial post is strange. If you spend any time at all lurking here, and in general we encourage newbies to lurk before posting, you would know that there are very few "shoulds" when it comes to diapering in this community. I think most of the regulars make it a practice here to encourage parents come to their own conclusions about what is best for their families, and whether or not they use disposables for any length of time before CD is a personal decision. It was just a very strange way to open a thread.
ok, well sorry for the strange word should... i was just wondering about cloth diapers. I just assumed that there was only the OS, and that would be too big for a baby and that people just used dispoasables before they switched. I guess i thought that just cause thats what my sister did... i didnt know there was a NB size and thats why i wanted to ask all these questions...
ok, I didn't mean to misspell every other name... I just know trendybums cause thats the one that my sister uses. I still don't know why people have to get so butthurt over me starting a new thread and asking questions on it.
My boy was in disposables for about the first 6 weeks. Mostly because I was completely overwhelmed by how much work having a newborn was. If I'd had to do diaper laundry as well, I would've completely lost my mind (instead of mostly losing it).
Although I had newborn diapers, I only used them for about a month before he outgrew them.
He's been in cloth diapers since then, thought we still use a disposable at night.
Using disposables if you need to (for whatever reason) isn't the end of the world.
That's okay. I think your original questions weren't very specific and it was difficult to know what information you are looking for.
As for your first question, I think many CD moms start using CDs soon after coming home from the hosp (many ppl are gifted disposable diapers and some use them up). I personally donated my disposables to a local diaper bank.
Most newborns, and I mean the vast majority, cannot fit into OS diapers for awhile, so if you want to CD from the get-go, you'll definitely want to look into a NB stash. The NB stash can be quite cost-effective, I I think many consider it worth the investment.
Feel free to lurk and ask more questions once you have somewhat of an idea of which CD direction you're going in.
