Inductions?

My next appt ill be 37 weeks and I know well probably be having birth plan conversations, plus my cerclage will be out...yay! Im a ftm but I do not want to be overdue. I do want whats best for the baby, but with my paid medical leave Ill pretty much be down to the wire at exactly 8 weeks pp. from my supposed due date. For those that were induced, how did the conversation go? Its so weird to have all this time hoping and praying that LO stays in, but then thinking that LO will be too stubborn to wanna come out...lol...

Re: Inductions?

  • I was induced during my 39th week due to being a diabetic. I ultimately went on to have a c section. I am not sure how to answer your question? For me it depended on how I gave birth. I ultimately ended up have a c section and I received paid medical leave for 8 weeks. Had I had a vaginal birth it would have been 6 weeks. I had to actually wait until the baby was born and have the doctor sign some paperwork. I am not sure since our high risks are different but once I was induced my doctor would only let me go so long before deciding on a c section. I am not sure how your insurance works but for mine I had to wait until the baby was actually born then my 6 or 8 weeks started from that day. If that makes sense.......

    Good luck and Congratulations!
