Breastfeeding

Trouble with bottle.

Good afternoon ladies! I go back to work in 6 weeks when LO will be 6 months. As she hasn't had a bottle in 1.5 months, we tried yesterday and today, while I pumped. Did NOT go so well! I am trying to sort out the reason, so here's what happened. Yesterday I used freezer stash and she fought it. It smells metallically (I think), so I thought maybe the lipase bothered her. Of course, I wonder if it is bad, but I EP'ed for DD1 and it smells how I remember it did with her. I mixed 50/50 with what I was pumping at the moment and She continued to fight the mix. She was so worked up, she wouldn't even nurse at this point. Once she calmed a bit, I just put the bottle in her hands while I snuggled her and let her take the lead. Slowly, she took it. Tried again today, mixed 50/50. She screamed again. I gave her some of the fresh and she seemed more accepting. Then I swapped out the bottles for the mix and she slowly kept going. I know they say a baby won't take bad milk, but how true is that? Should I worry about it being bad? (Stored in deep freezer). If it's the lipase, I know I can mix with fresh or a touch of formula, but do they get used to the taste? I don't even want to admit how much I have in the freezer- it's embarrassing! (I pump MOTN and get a LOT- I pumped 8.5 oz just now to replace her bottle feeding.) Tomorrow, I'm going to start with just fresh and see how she reacts. Then at least I'll know if she's just angry about the bottle!
