3rd Trimester

38 weeks, early signs of labor?

I have been experiencing strong amounts of pressure, cramping, strong Braxton Hicks, and some mild irregular contractions (along w/frequent trips to the potty TMI). Could this mean LO is getting ready to grace us with her presence? No real contractions as far as I can tell and they are definitely not regular.

  • Could be, could not be. You're 2weeks shy of your due date, so hopefully sometime before then you'll have her. :)

  • I know, just curious. :) I have been Googling all morning. And it's pretty much what you said, could or could not be. All of these new experiences just freaks me out a bit.
  • For me, with my last babe, before my water broke I had a huge increase in discharge. But, it's unfortunately so different for each woman.

As long as you're in tune to your body I think you'll know. :)

  • Take a Tylenol, lay on your left side, and relax for a bit. If it all goes away, you're not in full blown labor yet.

Or, go for a walk and see if your symptoms increase... GL

  • I have had these for weeks and I'm almost 40 weeks and still preggo. Sorry to get your hopes up
  • I had the same with DS. He was born at 41 weeks. Means nothing in my experience.

  • IMO, all of the "early signs of labour" mean nothing. I think the best one is regular, timeable contractions.

  • I'm 33 weeks and have been having the same thing. My doctor said its all perfectly normal, even this early. Go with your instincts.
  • In 39w5d, and have been like that for a good week at least. It sucks and is very frustrating!
  • Same here, pretty confusing and frustrating at times lol! But 80% of mothers I have spoken to and of course my own OB have stated that "you will know when you are in labor." Good luck and your LO will come when the timing is right :)

  • I'm almost 36 weeks and have been feeling the exact same symptoms!  To top it off I got butterflys out of nowhere making me feel like she was coming soon but who knows!  I hope she comes early because I have big babies that run in my family and I do not want to push out a 10 pounder like I was...LOL!!  I am getting checked this Friday to see how I am progressing but I do feel worse after I walk a lot so maybe its a sign I'm getting closer! :)
