Bleeding while breastfeeding

My DD is 16 weeks old and I breastfeed her exclusively.  A day ago I started spotting and then woke up today with what seems like a full blown period.  I am also on BC but I have been taking the pills for a while now.  Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if I should be worried?

    i have my period starting 7 weeks postpartum and i EBF.

    I think it is normal. I got my period 9 weeks postpartum. I'm currently on the mini pill, and my period is pretty irregular. For instance, my son is almost 15 weeks old and I got my period for the 2nd time 3 days ago. I think it just depends on how often you BF. Early on, I was supplementing with formula, so I wasn't nursing as often. Now I nurse LO every 3-4 hours.

    It varies. I had a period about 7 weeks pp and am EBF.
