Intro and question

Hello ladies!  My name is Sara and I am 31.  My dh and I have been ttc for a couple months now and just started temping this past month.  We have a 2 year son and an angel baby that we lost to SIDS at 7 months.  We are hoping for another little miracle in 2014!  So, as I said this was the first month that I started temping and I had something unusual in my chart and was wondering if anyone else experienced this.  I ovulated late... not so late... on day 19, but then 2 days before my period my temp dropped.  I have the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book and looked all over for an example of this and found nothing.  I did read about short luteal phase problems as I only had 7 days with higher temps over ovulation.  I started temping again this month so I will wait to see if this pattern continued and I will contact my doctor if this continues to happen, but I was just wondering if anyone ever had this.  TIA and have a wonderful New Years Day!

I don't have an advice to give you but wanted to say sorry for your loss, welcome and hope your stay is short!

Did you come off birth control recently? Your cycles might be out of whack for a few months if you did. Either way I would continue to temp for a few months and if you notice your LP is continuously less than 10 days I would call your OB. The newbie blog at the top of the page is a great resource along with the fertility friend website.

Thank you everyone for your quick responses!  I haven't been charting on the computer so I will have to start that.  My LP was only 9 days this month, so I will def keep track of that.  I haven't been on birth control since ds was born 2 years ago, but I did start some new medications for Crohns disease. I thank you for your kind welcomes and look forward to learning from all of you.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your angel baby That must have been very difficult to go through. Welcome to the board! I am still learning about temping so I have no advice other than to temp for a few months at least before you call your doctor that way you have clear data to show him.

Welcome!  And I second what wickedsugar said.  If it happens 3+ times in a row then talk to your doctor, but sometimes they just happen.

My LP has been 10 days since going off BCP. No clue what it used to be bc I never temped. Keep on tracking your cycles through temping to verify how long your LP is, like you said. And welcome!
