@jessicabcairns Cool! It's nice that they are twins, but they will have two separate birthdays. I hope they don't have to separate in the school year also. I had a classmate in HS and she was held back a year so her twin sister was one grade above us.
@jessicabcairns Early birthdays are better, my birthday was late in the year so I was 16 when I was a senior in HS and graduated at 17. Putting kids in school seems complicated because we have to go based on their birth month and age.
The Taste is starting up again on abc. I'm disappointed Brian Malarkey isn't back this season. His restaurants are amazing. But yeah, I am watching the season premier right now and I want all the food. I'm so hungry, which sucks because I have a cold and my taste buds aren't working properly.
Oh, and I really want to go to Red Rooster someday (Marcus Samuelsson's restaurant).
Even though its gonna be awhile before we put our babies in the school systems.. I kind of want to know this to get it out of the way..do we start preschool after they turned 3 or 4?
We did preschool at age 3, it was 2 hours a day, 3 days a week. We are fortunate enough that the preschool is in the same building as the daycare, so the boys just walked across the hallway. DD will start in Sept. (Holy crap, she'll start THIS YEAR!!)
Then we have pre-k, which the last couple of years has been state-funded, for 4 YO, then kindergarten for 5-6.
@MrsGraham06 thank you for the info! I know each State is different so I'm gonna look into ours and what they fund. I heard in our district that its advised to pre-register after our baby turns 2 due to the long waitlist.. oooh how exciting that DD is starting school!
We only have waiting lists for private schools. The preschool our kids go to doesn't take applications until that year, and daycare kids are top priority And while it's not funded entirely, $45/mo isn't bad.
