wondfo opk question

I'm brand new to using wondfos - started using the opk strips 2 weeks ago.  This is probably a question that will be answered when I receive my taking care of your fertility book, but would you ever get an hgc surge if you weren't ovulating? (like a false positive?)  I ask that b/c I have irregular periods right now and I don't have much of a baseline.  If this has been recently answered, I apologise in advance.  

I also apologise for my ticker.  I've tried many times to change it and am so frustrated at this point that I'm done trying.

    hi @Wolcottmom, sadly yes, the OPK are telling you, you're about to surge not that you actually do. So the answer is yes.

    Also my RE explained this I am totally paraphrasing and forget the technical jargon, but he said for me it wasn't so much that I was surging, as there was a drop in another hormone causing it to appear there was an LH surge.

    SO yes your body can try a few times to O and have surges before, it O or you may never O the only way to really know is through temping. I have pcos, so I temp and track cm.

    Me: 41 DH: 46. We are TTC our 1st, started July '11,
    3 cycles clomid with Ob,
    1 cycle Tamoxifen with Ob,
    Diagnosed PCOS 11/5/12
    clomid, trigger & timed bd 12/12 BFN
    1st clomid IUI 1/4/13 BFN.
    2nd clomid IUI 2/13 cancelled didn't respond to clomid.
    3/15/13 scheduled laparoscopy & on bcp.

    May 10 IUI from injectibles - BFN 

    May 22 done with interventions it will either happen or it won't. 

    February 2014 No longer actively trying, but not preventing. 

    SURPISE BFP 4/2/2015!!!!!!!!!!

    another wondfo question...I ordered mine from Amazon and received them in a manila envelope, no packaging or box.   Weird??  Or is that how they normally come?   It was a 50 LH and 20 PG pack.

    Was it fulfilled by Amazon or a 3rd party vendor? I think mine came in a box with some other items I ordered using the free trial of AmazonPrime. So I'm not sure how it would have been packaged with standard shipping if ordered alone. The test strips themselves came in a ziploc-type bag with instructions folded inside.

    It was fulfilled by Amazon but sold by Blackstone Medical Importers.  It came with no instructions except for the ones on the back.   I thought it was really odd.

    Mine comes in envelope like that from eBay...there actually from medical companies and they're no frills:-) ...I get 30 opks and 20 hpt's for a little less than $9.00 free shipping:-)

    Mine come in a plastic sandwich baggie. I guess when they sell bulk that cheep it comes with the no frills packing.

    @czarmom mine came in a baggie no frills. Although I was incredibly annoyed because it was a "add on" which meant I couldn't purchase teh 25 pack without purchasing other stuff. I remeber going crazy trying to buy them and my DH thought I was nuts cause I couldn't buy it.

    Now he is trying to buy something that is an "add on" and I said see and you thought I had issues ;)
