Pregnant after 35

when to test

HI all,

Today is 14dpiui. We did back-to-back iui on Monday and Tuesday two weeks ago, is it too soon for us to test?

Does it matter what time of day I test? This is our first IUI cycle and we did a Ovidrel trigger which I know can cause false positives so I don't want too test too soon but I'm dying here!

Thanks!

Re: when to test

  • Everyone metabolizes Ovidrel differently. Mine was out of my system by 14dpiui (usually by 9 or 10 days out).  However, that's not to say that's true for absolutely everyone.

My instinct is you're likely okay to test now, but there's just no way to know for sure or speed this up (it is so frustrating, isn't it??). When is your beta? I always tested with FMU.

After waiting impatiently and wondering during my first IUI, I ended up deciding to test out my trigger with cheap Wondfo pregnancy tests. YMMV; I'm the sort that always took a HPT the morning of my beta; no way am I going to be blindsided--good or bad--at work. And I usually had questions for the nurse about my next cycle.

Best wishes. FX this is your cycle.

  • When we did IUI my instructions were to test 14 days past, so I think you're okay. Your RE can then confirm by testing your Betas. I generally think its easier to test first thing, just because it's easier to see the lines. Fingers crossed for you!
