Hello Everyone,
I had introduced myself about a long time ago when we were first really considering adoption and where to begin in the process. Adoption is something that I've always known that I wanted since I was probably 10 years old. DH and I had always talked about adopting and we're now at the point that we're going to start taking those first steps with interviewing agencies and completing applications. We're still exploring whether we want to complete a foster adoption or adopt internationally. Most likely we'll eventually do both, but not sure where we are going to start.
Given that, have any of you had experience adopting from Bulgaria? There's a local agency that is certified with international adoptions from there and I'm setting up a meeting to see how many adoptions that currently have versus how many families are waiting. From everything I've read, it can take up to 36 months to complete but wanted to see if anyone had personal experience with the travel and the politics of it all.
