Pregnant after IF

**2IF Grad Check-In**

Congrats to everyone for making it here!  This check-in is for graduates of the 2IF board (and any other secondary infertility grads).  If you are new to the check-in, please let us know your due date and you will be added for next week.

Congrats to rcnavywife, who got to meet her three little ones on Christmas Eve!  I hope we get to see photos soon, and that the babies’ stay in the NICU goes by quickly!  Also, I loved reading everyone’s posts about their baby name choices.

Re: **2IF Grad Check-In**

  • I am 23 weeks (almost to V-Day!!!), and feeling pretty good.  Sleeping okay (comparatively), not as bloated or stretched feeling, and a bit of energy during the day... at least until evening comes around.  I haven't really been super-emotional this pregnancy, until this past week.  My evil step-mother in-law ruined our Christmas with passive-aggressive silent treatment and refusing to even acknowledge that we are pregnant, much less say congrats.  It was the first time we had seen her since becoming pregnant.  I really let it get to me and was weepy for a couple of days afterwards!  DH can't stand her either.  Our next appointment is Friday of next week, and I'll have the 1-hour glucose test then.

QOTW:  I think what I would most want is kind of boring.  I would want a back, neck, shoulder, foot..... okay, whole body..... massage every night between now and when the baby comes!  I feel stiff and have tight muscles every day, it seems.

  • 1.  How many weeks along are you? I am 37 weeks tomorrow 16 days left

    2.  Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results, etc.)? I still have low protein and glucose in my urine and they do not know why. My BP is fine and I do not have any other Pre E symptoms. I see ob twice a week now and have a non stress test weekly.

    3.  How are you feeling lately? Pretty bad  I feel si\ck and tired all the time, cannot sleep more than few hours at a time and I am just so tired.

    4.  QOTW:  If DH were to surprise you with a pregnancy-related gift of some kind, what would you want it to be? To get some rest alone in the house. I am a SHAM and sometimes I feel it is too much to have my dd and feel this bad. I am ready for this baby to come.

    Happy New Year to all!

  • 36.5 days today and feeling more and more anxious with each passing day.

Had an appointment last Friday and have another one again this Friday. At our u/s last week the tech did say that I definitely still have a complete previa, but the bonus was getting to see baby girl again. We did a 3-D u/s this time, our first...very cool! The tech estimated that she was already weighing in at 6 lbs. 8 ozs. so if we make it to the end I will be having another big baby!

Cervix is not effaced at all and they can't check to see if I'm dilated due to the risk of rupturing the placenta. The PA said that she was quite surprised I had made it past 35, and now to 36+ weeks without another bleed and that, while it is possible to make it the scheduled C-section on the 16th, she wouldn't plan on it.

QOTW: I dropped some hints to DH that I wanted a mother's necklace of some sort. Found some really pretty ones on etsy and showed him a few weeks back, but honestly figured he forgot all about it. Then he surprised me with one on Christmas day. It is  silver with an infinity symbol and two small silver discs that have our two girls' initials. So tiny and dainty, but I absolutely love it!

@mlamping - I am very much counting down with you! Hang in there...we're so close!

@tyringyetagain - So glad you are almost to V-day and good luck with your test next week!

    Happy 2014 to all!

  • 19 weeks today

I have my A/S on Thursday. I also got my results back from the MaterniT 21 test and they were negative, thank goodness! That was a long week!

I don't know if it's just winter blues or what, but I've been feeling so blah this week. No motivation to do anything. I'm hoping to get in gear this weekemd and get the Christmas stuff all put away and out of the soon to be nursery so we can start getting that together and go through baby stuff from DS.
Physically, I've had horrible lower back pain and my backside hurts!

QOTW: I honestly have no clue, maybe a massage and salon apt. combo? I've been trying to find time to get my hair done for weeks and just got too busy with the holidays. I desperately need a cut & dye job. :)
  • 1.  How many weeks along are you? 11w today

    2.  Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results, etc.)? OB appt on Friday and I am hoping we will get to hear the heartbeat on the doppler (11w3d). I have to bring DS with me, and he will probably think it is pretty cool! NT scan is next Tuesday.

    3.  How are you feeling lately? Caught whatever horrible cold is going around here, which is no fun. It is hard to tell, but I think the nausea is a bit better this week, which makes me happy and nervous at the same time!

    4.  QOTW:  If DH were to surprise you with a pregnancy-related gift of some kind, what would you want it to be? I guess it would be a new rocking chair, so more baby than pregnancy related. It isn't in our budget right now, and we still have the one from DS but it isn't as nice or comfy as others I have seen.

    DS born Jan 2010

TTC#2 since Nov 2010 with breaks for DH cancer tx (remission!)

  • I'm 22 weeks today, almost 23. Had my OB appointment last week. Nothing new to report. I'm feeling ok just stressed. It appears as though DH did have a stomach bug and passed it along to DD. She went over a year without the stomach flu and she's in preschool! I am scared I'll be next :( of course I've been in the thick of it with her and DH, so I'm praying for a miracle. Poor things are miserable when they are sick - kids and hubbies! It seems to be pretty mild, though, so hopefully she can eat soon. She's crying for food but just keeps throwing up the little bits I'm giving her.
Anyways, I begged DH for two portrait sessions with our incredibly artistic, incredibly expensive wedding photographer - one for newborn and one later on as our family of 4. We will see if that'll happen. Just got a bill for the panorama blood test - $3000! Which pisses me off because I feel like we were scared into doing something. Ugh.

  • 1.) 8 weeks
2.) If all looks well on the u/s, I will have my last appt with my RE on Thurs. I can't wait to hopefully hear our LO's hb!
3.) Nauseous a lot in the evenings and going to bed at 9 every night. Other than that, nothing too terrible.
4.) QOTW- I read 2 really good answers I would love to have: a full body massage or a new glider/rocking chair. Our old one from DD is not in good shape and not very comfy
